Pathway to Destiny

Meanwhile…

Seleq Major walked over to Sertoff, “I understand you need every abled bodied man, which is why I gave you control of my pack. Mark is your sworn brother, back from the dead, out to exact revenge on his murderers. He saves the worst for you.”
    Sertoff said nothing.
“He has your heart breaker. Are you hoping she will break his heart too?” Seleq fished for information. “Give him a weakness, for he has none. You tried to kill him and it made him stronger. You think this paltry force is going to withstand the onslaught? He devours solar systems. Come to your senses.” Seleq shook his head, “Not even with every peasant in all the lands could you create an army large enough.”
Seleq leaned against the wall and crossed his arms, “He’s always been able to read your mind. Always been five steps ahead.”
“Enough!” Sertoff shouted but didn’t look at his friend.
    “It’s a fools mission.”
Sertoff looked at Seleq out of the corner of his eye, “Then you’re the jester.”
