Teenage Ghost

Dan’s phone went off and he received a call he never thought he would get. The new principle of the school was chewing him out over the mess the school was in. He listened with unbelief as he heard the story of how every single classroom was upended, and the entire office was ransacked. He finished his coffee and pulled on his work clothes.
When Dan reached the school a very disturbed Ms. Stone was already waiting for him in the parking lot. The school looked fine from the outside, nothing was disturbed. He listened to her shrill ranting and raving as he walked around the outside of the school looking for broken windows or anything that indicated forced entry. He didn’t even find so much as scratched paint on the outer doors.
“It’s a mystery for sure how they got in, and such little time too.” Dan said aloud mainly to himself than the principle. “Well we’ll get to the bottom this, that’s for sure. After the break in at the science lab I had the crew install cameras in some of the rooms. We got them set up in the Science Labs and the Audio/Visual storeroom. Just to be on the safe side.” He walked with Ms. Stone to the first hall entrance and walked inside.
His jaw dropped as he walked into Science Lab Two and saw the chaos. However the camera, hidden in far corner near the clock was still intact. “Well.” he stated and then walked to the maintenance shed. He unlocked the doors and walked inside.
The shed was disheveled, and the wires had all been ripped. The monitor was smashed and the keys had been ripped off the keyboard and tossed with other trash on the floor. The computer itself was inside a metal box that was screwed into the desk, wires ran out from a small hole in the top.
“Now tell me how did they get in here, when the door is locked?” Ms. Stone questioned in anger.
Dan let out a low deep breath and looked at what was left of the surveillance server. “I’ll take it home and find out what’s on there. If anything is on there. Who ever did this will be caught. I doubt they were clever enough to hack in and erase the data the cameras collected. But…” He knelt down and pulled a screw driver out his belt. “You never know.”
He began unscrewing the casing he had set the computer in to record the cameras. He had made sure there was no way to steal the servers, and hacking them required a password that only he knew. He was confident, but not completely secure, he knew if someone wanted to erase the data they would surely find a way.
