Vampires
Alfonz stood up against the accusations. “You are jealous we are evolving. Evolving out of your control.”
“You call this evolution?” he pointed to Utheus. “This soldier hasn’t evolved since the middle ages.”
“Did you come to lecture us on our ways?” Alfonz became defensive. Alfonz scoffed, “Tell us of how you know so much more than we do, because of your ancient knowledge?” He pointed to Utheus, “Tell me. How much older than he are you? Or are you older than him?” Alfonz turned off the television. “Your kind think you are so much better than us, but we know better.”
“So tell me, who will keep your air conditioning running in this brave new world?” Azues inquired. “What will you do after there are no more humans destroying the environment and it begins to heal? It is their constant poisoning that keeps the sky shaded, blocking out the sun. Are you so willing to go back to the old ways?”
“We have no plans of wiping out the entire human race at one time.” Viktor responded. “We merely planned to cull the herd.”
“There is a plan.” Alfonz walked to the back of the room. When he returned he was carrying a clear, sealed plastic box with a head in it. It was the head of the vampire Elizabeth. “This was her plan. To hunt again, as in the old days. To pick one city at a time rampage and pillage it. Leave half the inhabitants under the age of maturity and twenty percent of every one else. Then leave the other cities to live in fear while we travel off the continent to another land and start the process there.”
Viktor moved behind Azues while Alfonz spoke.
“The only problem is we have factions forming against us.” Alfonz continued. “We did not expect the ancients to bless us, but we did expect them to not interfere. Elizabeth swore on her life her plan was fool proof. We followed her instructions on how to manipulate the humans dna and create from them pure blood virgins again. It was her instructions on breeding that started our facility.”
Alfonz started to sound annoyed, “Then Jeremiah came to inspect, to scout, and we let him go in hopes that we may all come to a mutual understanding. However Elizabeth had to pay the price for her deception and lies. She promised we would have no friction or animosity, she lied.”
Azues could feel Viktor behind him, “I did not come here to start a war, Heir Reiniger. I merely came upon the chance of a mutual business proposal.” He then glanced over his shoulder at Viktor, “And perhaps offer some advice.”
Viktor retorted quickly, “We are not in need of your advice.”
“But perhaps you will take ours.” Alfonz walked forward. “Tell the others to not get involved. There is no need for war, or battle like in the old days. We are not looking for supremacy. We only long to hunt, as we did, in the old days.”
“Then why do you need an army?” Azues questioned.
Alfonz did not respond, he extended his hand towards the door.
Viktor moved to the side, well out of reach.
Azues walked out the door, this had not gone as he planned.
