When Shaniqua woke, a nurse was tending to Janet’s I.V.
“Has she woken?” Shaniqua asked.
The nurse shook her head and then walked out of the room to finish her rounds.
Shaniqua drew in a deep breath and grabbed Janet’s hand. “If you are in there, can’t you at least give me a sign?”
The heart monitor skipped a beat and Shaniqua felt her body grow empty and cold with it. Fear grabbed hold of her as she gripped Janet’s hand tighter. “Don’t you die on me, Girl!” she warned the comatose woman. “Don’t you do it!”
Aston walked down to the lobby as he had done for the past two days. He made friendly conversation with the clerk behind the desks. He would divert their attention to elsewhere in the hotel and wait while they left their post. He scoured the occupancy records as much as he could before they returned.
After a nice mid morning workout in the Gym, he would retire to his room and log into the wireless security cameras that were installed on the hotel property. He had found access to the servers where they stored the video the first night.
He was a little surprised at how easy it was to gain access to everything, but he figured not too many people were trying to hack hotel security. There was little to gain unless you were stalking someone personally. A thief still had better chances disguising as one of the maid service.
He watched all sorts of people going in and out. None of them matched the woman he was looking for.
Aston sat in his hotel room and thought. With so many hotels available, it would be hard to pinpoint which they went to. He choose this one because it was the closest to the public house. There was also the possibility that were already ahead of him. They could be on their third day in Ireland now. That would mean in four more days they would be off to Norway.
He could be waiting in Norway. He would have plenty of time to check on reservations and route them out.
