Lucy did her best to try and gain her captor’s trust. She never caused trouble, or called for help. She didn’t struggle, all she did was cooperate. All the while waiting and watching, hoping he would drop his guard.
Finally on a long train trip, her patience paid off.
The two were booked in a small private compartment. Two benches the size of love seats faced each other with luggage shelves above. There were bathroom facilities at the end of the cabin, including two showers.
Lucy pretended to sleep. Her heart jumped when she heard her captor taking off his jacket and laying it on the bench across from her. He slid off his shoes and removed his socks, putting on the complementary slippers. He grabbed his toiletry bag from out of his belongings and left her alone in the compartment.
Her heart beat wildly as she waited what seemed like an eternity, counting in her head off two minutes time.
She slowly opened her eyes and looked all around. It was true, she was alone.
She reached for his jacket and felt the phone in the inside pocket. She pulled it out and glanced at it. Quickly she messed with it til she saw the contact Christine show up.
She dialed the number.
“Aston?” Christine questioned. It was two fifteen in the morning.
“No please!” Lucy said quickly. “My name is Lucy Stymes. I’ve been kidnapped by the owner of this phone. I need you to help me.”
Christine felt a cold chill down her back. “Help you how? Where are you?” she asked quickly. She wished Shaniqua was on the line to talk to her.
Lucy then realized she had no clue where she was or where she was going. “Wait!” she set the phone down and began to rummage through Aston’s things til she found the plane tickets and passports. “We’re going to be at the Mohammed V Airport and arrive the next day at the Chicago O’Hare airport. But it wont be for two weeks time. That’s the date on there, two weeks tomorrow. At 5am.” she explained then placed the tickets back as she found them.
“I wrote it down.” Christine assured her. “I’ll do what I can. You can trust me.”
Lucy hung up the phone and set it back where she found it.
Her heart beat so hard it was causing her to shake. She took deep breaths and tried to calm herself.
Just as her nerves were finally starting to settle, the door to the compartment slid open. Lucy knew anything that made her captor suspicious could cause him to change his plans. That would be the end of her only way out.
