It Could Happen…
C.I.P.
Mother sues McD’s over Child Identity Policy, put in act due to the Obesity Act of 2014. You’ll remember that the Obesity Act requires that Children 12 and under eat no more than 8,000 calories a day. A strict nutritious diet with less than 500 grams of fat and sugar per week.
Back when the policy was first initiated in 2015 many popular eateries began closing due to the overbearing food regulations, policies, and fines. Causing national outcry and protests in some cities. Food Regulation Policies like McD’s C.I.P. were put in place to protect the restaurants from liability.
“We can not police what irresponsible eating habits are practiced in the home.” Mike Chandon, spokesperson of McD’s, said on February 2015. “But we can take measures here to try to ensure the health and longevity of our patrons, whom we deeply love and care about.”
The Child Identity Program takes a picture of your child, or children, while you are placing your order. It then runs the picture through it’s nationwide database for face recognition. If your child has eaten at any McD’s nationwide within the past seven days the computer will shut off the cash register. The cashier then must wait for the manager to come void the sale, and unlock the register.
Similar suits have been filed in the past against McD’s for their policy. Cases of twins and mistaken identity have sometimes lead consumers to tears as they were denied their favorite treat.
“It’s an invasion of my privacy. “Jill Canton, a hefty mother of three proclaimed. “So what if my kid’s a little overweight? Who’s it hurting anyway? What business is it of the Government what I weight or what my family weighs?”
Congress however disagrees. Since the induction of the health care law in 2012. The strain of health related illnesses due to obesity and the rising costs to cover it, congress passed the Obesity Act. Which limits the amount of grams of fat and sugar you are allowed in a seven day period.
As many of you are aware the so called “Prohibition Bill” is up again for votes in Congress.
“The health related costs such as liver and brain diseases due to alcohol poisoning is costing the tax payers millions. Not to mention all the malice, death, and disregard of others derived from the impaired judgment that comes as a direct result of drinking. How many more drunk driving deaths must we endure?” Dem. Ronald Art (Calif.)
You may recall The senators daughter was killed by a drunk driver earlier this year.
