Serial Killer
Andy pulled a small garbage can out from under the sink and set it near the table. He tossed his bowl and spoon in it and sat down at the table. He pointed to a small groove cut into the wall paneling, “I cut a hole in the wall so you can have some privacy in the bathroom. The divider is just a curtain, you pull it to open it.”
Alicia did desperately need to urinate, but he sat straight across from the toilet. She was too afraid to chance moving. Too afraid of what he might do.
Andy took no notice of her fear. “I also took the liberty of buying you an electric shaver, should you feel the need. It has a solar charger.” He stopped talking abruptly and was still. He watched her every move for a few moments, then got up and walked out.
Alicia looked out the window and watched his figure move away from the door into the yard. She rushed to the bathroom, struggled with the door, and in a few minutes breathed a deep sigh of relief. She laughed to herself a little, she’d never been so happy to pee in her life. She didn’t know who this guy was, or why she was here. She wasn’t sure if she was going to survive this, or be tortured to death.
She came out of the bathroom and looked around nervously.
The door knob on the front door began to move.
Alicia ran and jumped back on to the bed, rushing to the furthest corner.
Andy came in and approached her silently, he reached over and took her bowl and spoon to toss in the trash.
The rest of the evening passed in silence, and the light outside began to fade away. Soon the trailer was dark and it was hard to see any further than a few feet in front of you.
“You should sleep.” Andy broke the silence.
“Where will you sleep?” she replied quickly.
“I’m not sleeping tonight. In case you try to escape.” the shadowed figure replied from a corner Alicia could no longer see clearly.
She laid down and pretended to sleep, but sleep would not come. She was too afraid if she went to sleep, she would never wake up again.
