Serial Killer
Alicia asked for a sun tea jar and tea, which her captor readily bought for her. She began making tea and sitting out everyday, watching the lonely stretch of road. For days she saw nothing, then one day a white sedan with a shiny chrome grill came barreling down the dirt road. A cloud of dust formed behind it.
Alicia jumped up and began jumping up and down waving her arms frantically at it.
It sped past, leaving only a cloud in it’s wake.
She slumped back down in her chair and poured some tea. At least someone drove past, it was more than she’d seen since she’d been out there. She took a sip of her tea, besides they might have seen her.
After several days had passed, she figured they had not seen her. She was beginning to loose hope when she saw another vehicle on the horizon. She wanted to get up and wave her arms, but something inside her made her wait. Wait and see what the car was.
Her heart beat fast as she noticed it was a truck. It began to slow as it neared the entrance.
Alicia strained to see if it was her captor or not. She stood up and waved to the truck.
The driver rolled the window down and waved back, then drove off.
She sat back down and sighed.
Several days passed again with no vehicles in sight.
