Original X-roads-2003

“That’s what I thought.” I stood up and started walking out the forest.
“There’s something I want to know since you’re attacking me, and my friendships with other people.” Jabetto walked beside me.
    “What?”
“Why did Sertoff have his arm around you? I mean since you hate him so much.”
“Just shut up.” I glanced sideways at him.
“So you do have feelings for him.” he grinned.
I sighed, “Look, I don’t know what I have. I don’t miss him if that’s what you mean. I’m trying to get away from him aren’t I?”

“Are you sure that’s what you’re trying to get away from?”

I stopped and faced him. “I know what you’re getting at. And believe me, it’s something I’ve thought about too. But can you see me with someone like him?”
    Jabetto shook his head.
“No, me either. I like Jonothan, I always have. I would rather be with him, I didn’t know about the stupid law.”
“That sounds pretty unbelievable from the King’s assassin.” he smirked half laughing.
“I don’t care what it sounds like. I didn’t know.”
“Well on Earth when you run the stop sign does the cop give you the ticket wether you knew about it or not.”
“I don’t think that’s a good comparison.” I rolled my eyes. “But I know where you’re going with it, I didn’t say I wasn’t guilty I just said I didn’t know about the law. Let him find me on Earth and try to push it there, we all know there’s no such law.”
“Maybe that’s what’s wrong with the place.”
“HA! One of the many things, but don’t get me started. I want to get these things fixed, and get out of here before he decides to find us again.”
“You know we’re going to have to move fast for this to work.”
“You ain’t just whistling Dixie.” I trekked ahead.
