Original X-roads-2003
We now stood on a street corner, which was strange because there were no cars. And the people…They looked like Jonothan.
“We home now.” he smiled at me and took my hand as we walked down the street.
“There’s no trees here.” I observed.
“Dere no oxygen here either. No grass, no tree, no sky.” he pointed up directly to the stars above us. “Just de buildins, de people, and de streets.” which were all metallic, a light satin finish gray. Uniform, direct, windows on the sides, one doorway with no door, no signs…Everyone wore black, their skin pale white, which is no surprise with no sun around, just the street lights. The only colours were the hair and eyes of the people, which varied a great deal. The women all wore the same dress, long and tight with just enough room to move around in, a ruffle at the bottom which just barely showed off shiny black pointed shoes.
I glanced around, no one noticed us, they just walked around going here and there as if nothin was going on. Jonothan crossed the street and began to walk down the left street til we reached what looked a residential area, but only because the buildings had doors. At the end of the first cross street he turned and we entered the second house on the left.
A man walked forward, he had short white hair and white eyes.
“Father.” Jonothan nodded towards him.
A woman then came out from the other room, “Son!” she exclaimed in joy. She looked like Jonothan, black hair and blue eyes.
“Mother.” Jonothan smiled as he embraced her closely.
“What brings you here?” his dad asked.
“This is Jasylin.” he moved away from his mom and took my right hand ushering me towards his dad.
He then took my hand gently kissing it, “A pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, I’m Gandar. And this is my lovely wife Rean.”
She in turn hugged me, “We have heard so much about you from Jonothan, you know…”
Jonothan cut her off, “So how have you been Mother?”
She looked at him confused, “I, have been well son.”
