The door slid closed, Gartan stood there. “The Triblican Army is on a mission, and you have disturbed that mission.”
“Sertoff shot me for talking to Jasylin.” Jonothan looked up at him.
“Never the less, you know better than to interfere.” he warned.
“You don’t have to tell me about interfering.” Jonothan stood to defend himself. “Since the whole thing started Sertoff wouldn’t let Jasylin near me. He would force her to go his way, abuse her in any way he saw fit. I’m not the one who started it, have you ever known me to step out of line when it wasn’t called for?”
“No, you have always been the epitome of excellence for our race and family.” he agreed.
“And have you ever known me to attack out of jealousy?”
“I suppose if you had you would have done so long ago, months before when you first told me of the problems.”
“And have I ever once asked you for anything that I wasn’t deserving of?” Jonothan stood straight.
“I am simply stating the facts.” Gartan mentioned. “It will be most difficult for Osario to release this bond, he has a stake in this as well.”
