Original X-roads-2003
“I think you need to come home.”, Gartan faded in and then back out.
Jonothan moved me and stood up, then offered me his hand. We materialized in the entry room where Sertoff now stood with three other people. I shrunk back a little and started to back step, but Jonothan in turn put his arm around me and continued to walk forward.
Sertoff glared at me, it wasn’t my fault.
“It’s ok.” Jonothan looked down at me.
“Sertoff, you have been charged with conduct unbecoming of an officer.” Gartan started in holding a see thru scroll. It was odd to see it at first, it looked as if there was writing in the air and he was just holding his hands there for show. “How do you plead?”
Sertoffs’ eyes never left me, “Not guilty.”
“The evidence.” Gartan motioned to man standing to Sertoffs left.
A screen appeared out of no where, a few scenes played on it. The most outstanding being at Daemons castle, this threw the three men in bout of whispers.
“Again, how do you plead?” Gartan gave him a chance to change his plea.
“The same.”
I swallowed.
“This court has no choice but to find you guilty of this charge. You are not allowed to manipulate lower ranking officers, or deal out abuse demeaning to their service.” Gartan stood firm.
Sertoff never took his eyes from me, “Waters, Jasylin Jaye. Rank Second Major, Id 45832. Mission, to assassinate one Matrae, Richard, member of the D’Brau Army in close relations to the Underworlders in the category of Slave trading.”
“Second Major?” Gartan questioned the three.
“You just put her up there to get the charges reduced.” Jonothan accused.
After a few mumblings Gartan continued, “You are so charged, this court finds the ranking of command invalid due to the nature and circumstances of the attack. Do you stand ready for sentencing?”
“I do so stand ready.”
“You are here by relieved of duty until further notice.”
I gasped.
