“Jas, go wit Harley an Mesiaha to the front entrance. I don thin he comin here, but I rather be safe.” He knelt down and looked at Zariaha.
“What are you going to do?” I questioned unmoving.
Jonothan looked over his shoulder at me, “Can’t no one stop Sertoff now but you, gal. You thin I’m gonna hurt Zariaha? Or any yo’r friends?”
Harley tapped my shoulder and I turned to follow him out.
We waited in the front entrance to the castle, I noticed the temperature was normal. “Why is not hot in here?” I asked Harley.
Mesiaha began to stretch out.
“You like that?” Harley pointed to the corners of the room. In each corner a small square device was embedded in a hollow carved into the stone. One at the top and one at the bottom. Harley beamed with pride, “I created a temperature force field.”
I grinned at him.
“I don’t know what’s going on with the weather, but the High Knights are all restless. Talking about the Great War, and the Underworlders, you know.” Harley continued.
“Yeah.” It was a little coincidental.
“They aren’t everywhere, but I do have them in certain rooms.” he paused. “I put them in your bedroom.” he took a step back from me.
“You knew I was staying?” I questioned.
Harley smiled, he pulled out a rolled tobacco stick and offered it to me.
I shook my head no and looked away.
