I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
“Wat you thin bout dis?” he gloated and motioned back to me. “She give herself ta me anytime I wan. Before she ever met you she come ta me, into my arms. Sleep in my bed til de sun come up in de mornin, and wan ta be there.”
“You’re nothing but a Time Wizard.” Sertoff scoffed. “You just want to take what is mine, like always. You knew who she was, and who she was to become long before she ever arrived here. You knew during your time with the Triblician Army.”
Jonothan smirked, “Did Lilah tell you dat? Cause dat’s wat I tol her right before she fell inta my arms.”
Sertoff gritted his teeth.
“You were using me.” I interrupted. “You never cared about me. You just wanted to get at him. All those times, the beach, the rose petals, all of it, all those years.”
“You hush up gal.” Jonothan waved his hand, my voice was gone. “Wen I wanna talk wit you, you’ll kno it.”
I narrowed my eyes.
“The only reason you have her is lies.” Sertoff watched the soldiers battle it out in an even match. “Your fake accent, your fake life. Everything she loves about you is an illusion, none of it’s real.” He glanced over at me, “Do you ever think about that, Jasylin?”
“Think.” Jonothan hissed. “Wat else you wan her to think, while you plantin thoughts in her head. You say my life a lie? Wat about you? Pretendin she got some kind of magic hold over you, like she say anythin an you jus do it like you her slave.” Jonothan crossed his arms, “Dat don sound like no Sertoff I kno.”
Sertoffs eyes hadn’t left me the whole time, “I took pages out of my rule book for you, Jasylin. Unfortunately,” he looked back at the fighting troops. “Now there are no pages left.”
