Original X-roads-2003

Jonothan got a worried look on his face as he watched the two.
I said nothing. You wont know if you don’t try, if he wasn’t willing to why should I?
“All right.” Sertoff said. In a flash of light the soldiers in grey disappeared. The people who looked like the charmed villagers from Dosta swiped their weapons into air then stood still in a silent daze.
Jonothan left them where they were, he didn’t trust ‘New’ Sertoff any more than he trusted ‘Old’ Sertoff.
Sertoff looked at Jonothan then back at me. “There is no more mission, no more Army, no more you and me. A complete start over.”
    “Hmmph.” Jonothan said in disgust.
“You just shot up an entire castle, how are they not going to execute you for that?” I asked.
The crowd behind the gate was much larger now. Some at the front had turned around to see the others being reanimated and were trying to dissuade the others from pounding on the gate.
“They wont remember.” Sertoff replied. “Kilji and I can clean up this mess together. I’ll take some time off, let you cool down too. Then come back in a more civil manner.” He looked at the ground and then back up at me. “If that is what you wish.”
I felt a strange nervous calm, but he had stopped fighting. He had stopped the rampage. I really had no choice but to agree. “How will I know you’re back?” I asked unsure I even wanted to know the answer.
“You’ll see me around.” he flashed out in a bright light and teleported inside the courtyard. He glanced over his shoulder at me then walked to Kilji.
