Original X-roads-2003

The rays from the bright blue sun warmed her back as her steed bounced beneath her. Her black hair streamed behind her, single strands fell loosely to her back. Her dark purple dress clung to her tightly from the wind-force, it was a daring look for this world. In her own it was common wear, a thin straps, low cut, with a fringe of lace at the top. Short length and slightly raised on either side. She closed her eyes and felt the wind, the power of the steed below her. “Yes,” She thought to herself. “Unicorns are worth more gold.” She smiled and glanced at the gold mane, then moved up to look at his horn. It was opaque, smoothly twisted, and pure.
“Oh the POWER!” she thought. A feeling rushed through her, a surge from deep within it seemed to caress and comfort her. An almost dark force came over her. Her shining eyes turned glazed over as she straightened her self on the unicorn. No longer innocently enjoying the ride, but now riding to command respect. To command Power. A wicked smile slowly crept on her face and she started shifting her eyes to and fro slowly. The desert heat warming her skin, reminded her of Kilar her home planet. How she longed to be there, to once again be in the arms of her people.
She began to see on the horizon, a large camp. It’s dark brown steeples reaching out into the sky like towers. There was no need to disguise it, it was pure evil. She started to increase speed as her breath began to get deeper and heavier. She felt the over whelming power inside the walls of the tents. It radiated off the desert soil, from the dead souls that were condemned to walk the desert forever. Their screams, pain, suffering, all of it fuel for their fire. Her smiled widened as she dismounted the unicorn and walked into the first tent.
Confidently she strode into the middle of the tent and shook her long black hair out. Her eyes narrowed and she looked directly into the eyes of her commander. “I have good news to report General Chasarue.” She paused and stood straighter.
He sat in the shadows, only his eyes were visible.
