In the Past…
After a few days of back breaking work that lasted sunrise to sundown, Jamie was rethinking his desire to be a pirate. Sails had to be mended, clothes had to be mended, recths had to be killed, the list went on for an eternity. By the time he fell into the swooping net that hung as his bed, the fish smell from the net’s previous job didn’t even bother him as he slept soundly.
Many was the night a vagrant pirate walked up to Jamie’s sleeping body and thought to cut his throat. Murder on the Miona only resulted in murder. Captain Naomi didn’t care what the argument was about, if you spill blood be prepared to have yours spilled in kind.
Jamie was hard at work unknotting one of the ropes when he heard Arst call out from the crows nest, “Ship off the port bow!”.
Immediately the ship sprang to life. Crew mates began scurrying up the masts to untie the sails at the Captain’s orders. Other readied the ropes at the bottom, as the crew on the gun deck readied the cannons.
Captain Naomi bounded up the stairs as the ship raced towards it’s prey. Her hair was braided into thick red braids reminiscent of a whip, they bounded in unison as she moved. glanced through a glass amulet. “Oh yes.” a devious smile began making itself at home on her face. “This will do nicely.”
