Original X-roads-2003

Mark emerged from the elevator into the room, “You do not answer the communicator when it asks you too?” he asked without any emotion or tone.
“What?” I asked as if I wasn’t paying attention.
Mark poured himself a drink from the bar. “I was calling all day, why did you not answer?” he inquired.
“This is not my house.” I said not looking away from the screen. “I’m not answering your phone.”
“Do I need to buy you a phone?”
    “Why?” I asked disinterested.
Mark walked towards me with the drink in his hand.
I continued talking unaware he was behind me, “I find it interesting you want to buy me a phone even though you know now I probably wont answer it.”
He leaned over and spoke into my left ear, “I find it interesting you think I would leave you here if I didn’t trust you enough to answer my phone.” He then stood up and walked out of the room.
