In the Future…
Meseet finished her morning exercises and stretches, then joined up with her group of friends for breakfast in the dining hall.
Astan was nineteen. He had caramel skin and clear sparkling, light brown eyes. His soft dark brown curls fell loosely around his face. All the teenage girls wanted to date Astan, even Meseet.
Cria was going to be twenty two in the next season. She had a skin tone that would change color with the seasons. In the winter she would become pale, in the summer almost bronze. She had strange clear almond shaped green eyes, and a mischievous smile. She was always dying her hair strange colors, right now it was pink. During the winter it had been light blue.
Faul was only fifteen, there were rumors he was Zahran Fordg’s son. He did look like an exact replica only younger. He was also already set on the leadership path, a role he had been forced into since he was four. So many just assume he will be the heir to the throne one day. Faul has other plans.
The three sat at a table for four, far off from the rest of the groups that ate as a communal family. It was the table set aside for guests, but there was never any, so the four had taken it as their own.
Meseet sat down with her tray of food and began to listen to the conversation and eat.
“No. Because once we get inside the city, there will be all these thumbplates everywhere.” Faul shook his head at Astan.
Cria snorted, “Just cut off somebody’s thumb.”
