Chapter Thirteen
In the Past… The ship had set dock on one of the large islands that make up Merith’s retreat. Captain Naomi hid most of her treasures on one of the smaller islands. She would use a series of fishing vessels to maneuver the gold. Captain Naomi was more than just a pirate. She owned an entire fishing fleet, The Hatro Inn, the Diaosy Inn, The Frigit Casino, and the Aswat Laundry. She needed clean linens for all those inns, after all. She employed over a thousand people, her businesses turned a profit. She had no need for piracy at all, other than the adventure. Her inns were spread out in Heldinbur, Feldwin, and the original at Merith’s retreat. She tried to build them in Tehrat but found King Kilji impossible to come to agreement with. She did not need his business, and could in no way fulfill his needs. Her laundries were also spread accordingly. She employed mainly women, but only because not many males applied. It led to many arguments and fights, always ending in her male crew members settling the crowds down. Naomi was a strong one. She’d fought for everything she earned, and everything she earned she kept. She didn’t win every battle obviously or she’d have business in Tehrat. She was strong enough to know when to walk away from battle, and that’s what made her the best.
