In the Future…
Astan, Cria, Meeset and two others walked into the energy processing plant. They had no trouble with their badges. The layout they had memorized, so they walked to their supposed positions as temporary replacements for the day while the workers were on sick leave.
They all placed the remote explosives before the lunch break. Not a single one raised suspicion. They left the plant and returned to the apartment, then waited for the news.
It was late when the explosion occurred. The shock waves shook the building the small rebel force was hiding in.
The windows flashed all black, and the lighting in the rooms brightened. An Urgent Warning flashed on the screen.
The screens then showed the processing plant exploding and fires erupting from every part of the building. Then the video showed Meeset, Cria, and Astan in the work uniforms entering the plant. Then it showed video from inside the plant, that clearly showed not only their faces, but them placing the devices when no one was looking.
Joia’s jaw dropped. “The cameras are not in the schematics.” She watched every angle of the three being exposed on live feed. Their entire day run on a small screen in the corner, so people could see. On the main screen warrants for their arrests flashed, along with the workers who called in ill that day.
Then suddenly there was a loud siren in the buildings hallways. It was the lock-down alarm, it meant that everyone in the building had to stay in their apartments and not move. It was so the police squad could remove the criminal in the building.
