Original X-roads-2003

She was not jealous, even though Mark and Ja’net were obvious lovers. She had no passionate feelings towards Mark at all. If she had feelings for anyone, they were for Sertoff Raje who still had a heart worth stealing. Many nights she could imagine herself, battling it out on an open battlefield, sword against sword. The clanging of metal in the moonlight, until he fell exhausted to the ground. “Mercy”, he would wheeze as he struggled to catch his breath. It would be the only word he could muster the strength to say, then he would collapse at her feet unconscious. She would stand there for hours looking at him, completely at her mercies.
“Are you going to finish that?” Casandra asked Dybin and pointed to her plate.
Dybin glared at Casandra in annoyance, “Yes I am! I can’t afford to let valuable food to go to waste.”
Later that night as the ships saw the signal fire in the distance they began to head towards the shore. When they got within sight of the tents you could hear the people begin to shout with joy.
    That was the signal.
The arrows were lit on the signal flame and shot onto the boats. Dybin’s boats surrounded the refugees on either side, when the flurry of arrows stopped, the cannons began. The ships were sunk into the ocean, and anyone who made it to shore got their throats slit by the army that waited there.
