Original X-roads-2003

I glanced at the both of them, “Why’s everybody suddenly being so NICE to me?!?!” I was slightly mad.
Daemon turned quickly to Sertoff, “What is she talking about?” he questioned harshly.
“I gave her soldiers.” Sertoffs voice dared his friend to make something of it.
Daemon sat straighter in chair, “You did what?” he questioned slowly.
    Sertoff narrowed his eyes.
“You can’t seriously be taking up Casandras’ advice, can you?” he seemed to be warning him.
“What advice?” I looked at Daemon, I smell a rat.
Daemon turned to me slightly, “That if he bought you something, symbolic, you’re thoughts towards him might change.”
I looked at Sertoff from the corner of my eye, “Were you trying to buy me, Mercenary?” I was pissed, I turned my face to him, “Do you think I’m one of your prostitutes? Is that how you view all women?” my voice was calm but angered. I waited for his answer with a glare.
He returned the glare, “Why?” He settled back in the chair and crossed his arms, “Are you for sale?”
I let my anger slide, and glanced back at Daemon.
“Oh.” Daemon leaned forward on the table. “Then I suppose the Mighty Sertoff was just being nice.” he accused sarcastically in anger.
Sertoff uncrossed his arms and leaned forward.
I glanced at them for a second, the tension in the room was electric. “Knock it off guys,” I muttered. “Just cause I needed men and I’m broke isn’t a reason to fight.” I watched Daemon as he moved away.
“Then I stand corrected.” he said in a mistrusting tone.
