Original X-roads-2003
“Dawn Co happened. They poisoned the lands they bought, they sucked them dry of their natural resources then used the science they developed to control the land.” Zahran explained. “It wasn’t overnight. It took thousands of cycles to accomplish this. I have been working on a theory, a theory I hope you can confirm.”
“Why me?” I asked. “You just met me. You don’t know who I am.”
Zahran looked at me seriously, “I think it is you who doesn’t know who they are.”
I glanced at confusion at Meeset, but she only shrugged in response.
“On the way here we got a ride from some transport driver who wasn’t a company man as he called it.” I said. “He took us off the road and showed this large blocked section of antennas and satellite dishes right outside of the town pointed towards it. Do you know what that is?”
Zahran looked forward, “Here’s the history of the satellites and antennas. Outside the city of Tula on Noltaire, about three or four hundred cycles ago DawnCo ran a scientific experiment. Using frequencies between 1700-4000 Hz, DawnCo was able to send out electromagnetic pulses via strategically placed transmitters. Within each pulse a series of engineered wavelengths engineered to alter the thinking processes of millions with in the city limits. With the use of frequent EMF pulses, an entire generation had changed it’s mindset in an exact role reversal of the previous generation, who could not hear frequencies broadcast within that range. DawnCo had successfully manipulated an entire generation of young adults into their exact molding.”
I glanced at Meeset who was wide eyed at the idea. “It’s mind control?” I asked just to be certain.
“Yes.” Zahran continued to look forward. “The reason the transport drivers even figured it out, is they drive out of range of the frequencies. They are able to think for themselves out on long stretches wasteland. That is why the security clearance on transport jobs are scrutinized more so than even military and political positions.”
“That’s insane.” I was unsure I wanted to believe a company would be so controlling.
“There’s more.” Zahran turned around and looked at me. “So much more, I could never even begin to tell you it all. They turned their fruitful farmland into wastelands on purpose so they could be the sole providers of food. They chemically engineered the food with low hormone levels and certain genetic blockers. They did this to lower the resistance suggestion, and encourage compliance. DawnCo is nothing more than an evil corporation bent on world domination. Every man, woman, and child is it’s property to do with it as it sees fit. They tell you where to work, what to wear, what to think, and who your friends are. You are allowed no direction or choice in your own life at all. Everything is preplanned for you at birth, your DNA prearrange for whatever position will suit their need when the time comes for you to enter into the work force. You never had a choice, you were genetically engineered to be who you are for the specific purpose of serving them.”
“It’s true.” Meeset agreed. “We are the last place of freedom on this entire planet.” She motioned all around her, “This is the only place DawnCo has not touched. As long as the cloaking devices hold out Chasarue can’t find us, and we are safe here.”
Zahran’s eyes pierced me deeply, then he turned back around facing forward.
