In the Past…
Naomi ordered the boats to shore, she and Jamie boarded the last one. The arrival on shore was uneventful.
The small band of twenty then spread out in the lush forest surrounding Kiliji castle. After about half the day had passed, an excited crewman came back and reported he had found the large statue they were looking for.
When they arrived at the monument, Jamie’s shock was evident.
“Whut tha?” he walked towards the statue. “That’z Mark and Jas!” He looked at the strange symbols on the base of the stone. “Whut’z that say?” he pointed to them.
A familiar male voice answered from behind the pirates. “It says Mark and Jasylin Chasarue rulers of Caslitak. Long may they rule.” Mark watched the group turn around to notice they were surrounded. “Do you like it? I had it requisitioned myself. Jasylin isn’t even born yet, but I still find it fitting. Don’t you?”
Naomi looked at Jamie and then back at Mark.
“You came for the water.” He directed at her.
There was a flash of bright white light. Jamie, Naomi, and Mark stood inside a large cavern. A waterfall could be heard in the near distance, but nothing could be seen it was too dark.
Mark held out a sword the glowed with a white light.
Jamie stepped backwards at the sight of it, and glanced with mistrust at Mark.
“Something wrong?” he questioned the thief.
Jamie shook his head slowly, he let no thought touch his mind. Instead he focused on the scenery that was now lighted by the sword.
The cavern walls were a dark grey blue, sparks of lilac and turquoise reflected as the sword moved about.
Mark walked to the cavern wall and touched the sword to a lilac gemstone. All of the sudden the entire cavern took on a lilac hue. Every lilac gemstone lit up like a light was behind it.
