Original X-roads-2003
I glared at him then stood up from my chair, I truly hate him sometimes. I started walking out, then he called to me.
“Where do you think you’re going?” his words cold again.
“Oh that’s right.” I turned around and glared at him. “I’m not supposed to walk out on you.” I crossed my arms.
“Sit.” he ordered.
I raised an eyebrow at him, “Ok.” I glanced beside me and saw a chair, “I’ll sit.” I pulled the chair from the table and sat down in it and recrossed my arms. Then I glanced at him, “Anything else?” I used one of my best smart aleck tones.
He narrowed his eyes, “Here.” he pointed to my old chair.
I tossed my hair, “No.”
He set his hands slowly on the table, palms down. His eyes never leaving me in their cold glare, as he pushed himself up.
I sat there and watched him, daring him to come over.
He stood and started walking towards me, grabbing every chair within his grasp and smashing them on opposite walls till he stood in front of me.
“I’m unarmed.” I tossed his words back at him.
He bent down to my eye level, “All about control.” he reminded me.
I narrowed my eyes, “No. It’s about winning. I have men to train, if you don’t mind.”
He straightened himself and set his hands above my shoulders, grabbing the back of the chair. “But I do.”
I glared at him.
“Now you two stop.” Daemon called to us. “If she wants to train the men you gave her because she’s poor, then let her go.” his voice still had a hint of disbelief in it. “There is a war on the last time I checked.” he picked up his bottle and drank.
Sertoff smirked and slowly moved away from me, “You want to go?” he held his hand to the door.
I looked at him in mistrust.
He shrugged and walked back to the table and sat with Daemon, then watched me as he drank.
I glanced at him for a second then stood up and walked out, the blue sun glowed down on me. The days here last long enough to be two or three days.
