Original X-roads-2003
A man dressed in deep royal blue hooded robe walked up to me, his features hidden by the large hood. “Mistress Jasylin” his voice was scratchy and semi-metallic, “Mayhaps you like to buy something for the troops?”
I cocked my head to the right and studied him.
“Weapons, medallions, pendants, armor, have it all here. Have EVERYTHING here.” he pushed.
“Yeah well you run on credit?” I muttered sarcastically.
“No need money!!!” his voice sounded scared as he waved the sleeves of the robe in front of him and shook the hood `no’.
I glanced over my shoulder to see if Sertoff was standing near by. There was no one there, just the Robe and I stood outside. I glanced back at him, “And why’s this?” I said in mistrust.
He slowly laughed, “You test me. Know this well, Assassin Jasylin knows all, sees all, hears all.” his voice sounded as if he was repeating some sort of myth or legend. “No one be safe from her blade, a woman never forget.”
I looked at him in abatement, “Cute.” I rolled my eyes, “Who’s been spreading rumors about me? As if I had to ask.” I crossed my arms and looked at the Robe.
There was a shrill squeal from inside the robe as it began to go in a form of convulsions.
I took a step back, wondering if he was going to explode or what.
He stopped, “No kill.” he pleaded.
Huh? “I’m not even armed!” I looked at him.
That seemed to settle him, “Many tales of your kills.” he moved closer as his voice started to whisper. “Even kill Commander Sertoff.” he said it as if it was unheard of.
“Well then,” I said in mild interest, “I guess I’m real powerful, huh?”
“Very powerful mistress.” he agreed and moved away slowly, the hood of the robe bowed slightly.
