Original X-roads-2003
“Get Zariaha.” Sertoff commanded to me.
“You not goin nowhere.” Jonothans words frightened me more than Sertoffs.
I let out a breath and stood against the wall.
“You would rather die, Assassin?” Sertoff’s cold voice questioned.
“Or become my Personal Slave?” Jonothan glared at Sertoff.
“I warned you Assassin, he only wants to control you.”
“He just wan you to get de Sor’cress for him, he jus wanna Use you.”
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms, sure I could run out there and try to find Zariaha. Even though I have no IDEA where she might be. Besides that, if I walk out there… either way I lose my life. I can wait till one or the other is distracted, but Jonothan can do a lot of things at once. There’s no real escape from this, I might as well walk out right now for all the good it will do. I pushed myself off the wall in a jerking motion and uncrossed my arms.
“Dat not be de Wisest move you makin Jasylin.” Jonothan warned.
I stopped just at his back, “Maybe not.” I walked the rest of the way out, and quickly rushed full force to the stairs. My heart began to race as I skipped stairs on my up, there was no consequence for my actions… So far. I raced out of the dungeon to the first floor, then down the hallway to the outside. The three blazing suns seemed to bright, I stopped for a second. There was something not right about Threshold, the heat is almost unbearable. No wonder Jonothan is going crazy, it’s this heat! Hmm, now if I was Jonothan where would I put a sorceress. I smirked, naturally… I glanced up at the spiraling tower in the left side of the courtyard.
