Original X-roads-2003
“Come on.” I motioned for Jamie to follow, we walked into the hallway. Flame was gone, Sertoff enveloped us in bright light. We stood as almost a complete group now, all except for Zariaha. I drew in a breath and glanced wearily at Sertoff, “She’s going to be the hardest to get. I need a sword.”
The Robe appeared in front of me and set my sword at my feet.
“How did you get this?” I questioned him as I picked it up.
The convulsions started.
“Forget it.” I equipped it and walked to Sertoff.
Daemon walked to his other side.
White light, then the inside of the tower. We were hit upon arrival, blue light knocked me against the wall. I tried to regain my breath, which he had so graciously knocked out me. I slowly used the wall to stand up, my back against it. I struggled for breath as I glanced up at Jonothan, Zariaha standing behind him. I pulled my sword, boy! did it seem heavy! It’s even harder than usual to catch my breath, getting harder to stand too. I gulped to wet my dry throat, what has he done to me. I glanced at Sertoff and Daemon who seemed to be experiencing the same as I. I glanced into Jonothans angry blue eyes. That’s alright, I can do it, I got Mesiaha I can get Zariaha.
“Don be a fool.” Jonothan scoffed. “You to weak to use yo’r charm.”
I felt an inner strength, the one called obstinacy. I sheathed my sword and leaned fully against the wall. “Zariaha, your sister’s been badly hurt and may be dying.” I used a solemn tone with no emotion. “Do you want to come save her or let her die.”
Zariaha walked out from behind Jonothan.
“She lyin to you gal.” Jonothan cooed.
“Shut Up Jonothan!!” I yelled and got off the wall. “You don’t care if she lives or dies!!!“
And that was all it took, we were once again a group.
