Original X-roads-2003
I turned and looked back, then froze in my tracks and pulled my sword. “I’m not saving her from Kilji so you can have her Sertoff.” I warned.
Jamie grabbed my left arm, which was the one the holding the sword. “Don’t Jas, yer jes askin fer it.” he pleaded in a whisper.
“I don’t care.” I looked down at him. “It’s the truth.”
“Do not worry about me.” Zariaha called out to me. “I will not let him harm me, as he has done you.”
“Ooo, that musta hurt!” Jamie said in a low tone.
I smirked, it didn’t seem to effect Sertoff though as he stayed by Zariaha’s side. I turned back around and sheathed my sword.
Daemon fell back to Jamie and myself, “So how do you like it now?”
“Like what?” I muttered as we trekked forward.
“No longer being the Odd Man Out as you call it.”
“Oh it’s great.” I muttered sarcastically. “Can’t you just see me jumping for joy around here. I deserved that respect, I earned it.”
“Bitter?” he questioned.
I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from saying anything more. The castle was beginning to appear on the horizon, I turned to Zariaha. “You better go to Starcythe, and take Mesiaha and Cas with you.” I warned.
She nodded once and closed her eyes, and then they disappeared in a cloud of light purple smoke.
