Original X-roads-2003

Sertoff walked up to me, “I hope you know what you’re doing.” He then walked past me and towards the castle.
“Me too.” Daemon warned and walked up to his friend.
I glanced at Jamie, he shrugged. I glanced around again, “Jabetto’s gone again.” I muttered.
“Yeah, I saw him disappear with them.” Jamie pointed out.
I let out an exasperated breath, “He wasn’t supposed to go.”
“Yeah well!!!” Jamie grinned and ran ahead.
I glanced at the countryside, yeah well was right.

Zariaha’s eyes opened and they stood right in the middle of a deserted castle courtyard. Brilliant banners and streamers waved proudly, though there was no wind.
“Ahh!” an aging man walked out to the group, his arms outstretched in a sign of welcome. He stood at about maybe six feet tall or more, dark black hair greying on the sides slightly. His eyes were a sparkling pale blue, his features were that of a king. His smile shone brightly as he stopped just in front of them. “We have Guests!” he seemed so pleased to have guests, as if he had never had them before. “Come,” he moved his hands as if ushering them inside. “We shall have a feast to celebrate this joyous occasion!”
There was a symphony of trumpets and horns filling the air.
Mesiaha looked around suspiciously then leaned in close to her sister. “I don’t see anybody, do ya?”
“No.” Zariaha let out a breath, “However, Lord Jon will shelter us from Emperor Kilji should the need arrive.”
“How do ya know?” Mesiaha was untrusting.
Cas walked up to them, “What are you two talking about?”
“Lord Jon.” Zariaha said then started walking towards him. “We are indebted to you My Lord.” she curtseyed.
“Oh come now.” he chuckled, “There’s no need for such formalities here. You are my Guests, you shall be treated as such.” He held his hands behind his back as the two entered the castle.
Jabetto walked over to Mesiaha and Cas, “Well are we going in or we just going to stand out here all day?”
They both shot him an abated look in unison as they walked in leaving him behind.
“Women!” he exasperated and walked in.
