Original X-roads-2003
Suddenly there was a burst of wind, a small tornado like motion swept through the room. Everyone in the group readied themselves for a confrontation. There was a bright blue light slowly filling the room, temporarily blinding everyone inside. When it was over, they glanced at the doorway. Jonothan stood alone, grinning from ear to ear he walked past the frozen guards to the Emperor. He paused as he stood next to Mesiaha, “You wan to be reunited wit yo’r sister?” he offered softly.
Mesiaha shifted her weight and glared at him.
He walked past her and stood a foot in front of the Emperor, his blue eyes glowing. “You holdin my gal in yo’r dungeon.” he seemed to be warning him. “I don thin you wan my wrath on yo’r head so soon after our las disagreement.” he pulled on his gloves.
The Emperor sat straighter, “Jonothan D’Brau. It has not been long enough for me.”
Jonothan looked back at the frozen guards, “I see you have no problem replenishin yo’r troops.” Then he glanced back at Sertoff, “But I did not know you employ scum.”
Sertoff drew his sword and took a defensive stance, “You own nothing here, Wizard.” he warned.
Jonothans eyes flashed with anger, “Oh no?” he uplifted his voice. “I thin dere be a gal in de dungeon dat belon to me.” he walked towards Sertoff. “Don thin cause you kiss de sheets wit her dat she belon to you. Dat be a big mistake.” he stopped just out of reach of Sertoffs sword.
“Why not walk closer?” he dared Jonothan.
Jonothan narrowed his eyes, “You thin you can defeat me?”
“I want my sister!” Mesiaha screamed from behind him, it all had been too much for her.
Jamie screamed and rushed in front of her.
Jonothan turned slowly towards her, “I be more dan happy to oblige.” a smile spread across his face as Mesiaha began to fade out.
“Stop it!” Jamie screamed and rushed at Jonothan.
Jonothan froze Jamie when he reached two feet, then he walked back to the Emperor. “I make a deal wit ya,” he glanced over his shoulder at Sertoff, “Wit all of ya.”. “I take Jas in return for de scout, de sor’cress, an her sister.”
“No deal.” Sertoff stood his ground.
“Shudup!” A voice was directed at Sertoff. Jamie was released from the spell and now stood staring at Jonothan. “Give her to him, she’ll get out eventually an come back. He jest wantz to make Sertoff jealouz. An she wantz to go anywayz, I dunno whutz the problem.” his angered words didn’t sit well with Sertoff.
“You need to learn your place, Thief.” Sertoff walked behind him and grabbed him by the back of the shirt tossing him half-way across the room. Then he approached Jonothan, “Jas stays with me.”
Jonothan stood straight, “Den maybe you won like de way I return yo’r gals.”
“You don’t want Jas.” Daemon called out to Jonothan. “You want Sertoff. Stop trying to avoid the subject and fight like a man.”
“Dat’s where yo’r wrong.” Jonothans eyes glowed brightly. “I don wan to fight Sertoff, it be over before it start. An as for Jas,” he started to fade out, “I don need yo’r permission to take her.” He turned to the Emperor just before he disappeared, “You make a big mistake.”
The guards returned to normal, “To the dungeon!” the Emperor ordered.
