Original X-roads-2003

There was brief light then I stood in the middle of an deserted courtyard. Atop the walls were these brilliantly colored banners, waving… With no wind. It was just an ordinary looking castle, grey stone, nothing to get excited over. The ground was nothing more than soft dirt, no grass or vegetation to speak of. No vendors selling things within the castle walls, no royalty walking about, nothing that would make it seem like a Working Castle.
    “There’z nobody here.” Jamie complained.
“You’re wrong.” I corrected him, “There’s someone here. They’re just not out here right now, they’re all inside somewhere.”
“Well are we jest gonna walk in there or whut?” he shifted his weight and cocked his head to the left, squinting at me from his right eye.
Sometimes Jamie acts like a impertinent little brat I swear!
“I suggest we wait here until Lord Jon arrives.” Daemon addressed Jamie.
“Who’s Lord Jon?” I glanced at Sertoff who stood straight with his hands behind his back.
He moved his head slowly and looked at me in silence.
I looked him up and down for a second, “Never mind.” I quickly turned away, I don’t want to know.
“Aahh!” I saw a distinguished gentleman dressed in a dark blue kings garm walk through he castle doorway. His hair was black, though slightly greying at the sides. His face seductive and gentle at the same time, I stood breathless glancing at him. I had never seen anyone like him before, he was so alluring, so charming… His eyes sparkled with a magic all their own, I was spell bound.
Jon smiled at me as if filled with some great joy that I had come here. He held out his hands and walked to me, I shook a little as I held out my right hand to him. His eyes looked deep into mine as he took my hand, I thought I might get lost in the vastness of his eyes. Yet he held me steady with his hands, his soft, gentle, strong hands, I felt as if everything was going to be o.k…. So long as I was here, no harm would ever to come me.
Sertoff cleared his throat, breaking the spell.
