Chapter Four

The hallway we walked down was made of light gray stone with arched windows within a foot of each other. Off-white satin material was draped at the top of the wall near the ceiling. White roses and olive green twigs were bound together with an off-white ribbon where the material was. Jon and I had walked away from the others.
He now raised his hand to the middle of my back almost touching it. “Sertoff seems to be quite taken with you.”
I rolled my eyes, “Is that what you call it?”
He chuckled, “Although it doesn’t show,” he raised his finger, “I can see it.”
“Yeah well I wish he’d find a new playmate, THIS one already has too many problems without adding on.” I muttered.
“He can be very persuasive when he wants to be.” his voice was warning me.
I smirked, “Tell me about it.”
“I think you’ll find my castle most accommodating…” Jon had started when a flash of bright blue light appeared in front of us.
“Jonothan…” a single breath escaped my lips as I watched him materialize. I narrowed my eyes and glared at him.
He smiled slyly as he approached me, “Now Jas, dat be no way to treat an ol friend.”
“You’re no friend of mine Jonothan. Not after what you did.”
“Ahhhh now Jas.” he held out his right hand to me, “You know you had dat comin gal.” His face seemed to offer a small form of apology, “You thin I just gonna let you take thins from me and not do anythin?”
“It was more than that Jonothan and you know it.” I stepped back a bit.
Jonothan shook his head, “No Jas. You make it out to be more dan it is.”
