Original X-roads-2003
Zariaha rushed out of the castle to see Sertoff walking towards her. There was such anger in his eyes, she paused. Perhaps it was better not to tell, not now.
He walked up to her and grabbed her face hard, “Tell me what, Sorceress?”
“You are hurting me.” she struggled to get him to release her.
He merely tightened his grip, “Where’s the assassin?”
“I, I…” she tried desperately to get him to let go.
“Now Zariaha!” he tossed her to the ground and drew his blaster.
She inched away from him shaking her head no.
“I have a proposition for you.” I looked him dead in the eye.
“Yes?” he set his fingertips against his lips.
“You kill Sertoff and you can do whatever you want.” I stood firm.
“Interesting.” he moved his hands down. “And what makes you so sure I want anything from you?”
I shrugged, “Ok, your loss.” I turned and started walking out.
“Wait.”
Meanwhile…
“I’m tired of wasting my time!” Sertoff shouted as he shot to the right of her.
“She had me transport her to Kilji!” Zariaha squealed.
“Kilji.” Sertoff muttered under his breath and disappeared in a flash of white light.
