Original X-roads-2003
When I woke up it was still dark, I glanced around at the shadows in the room. I quietly sat up and leaned over to Sertoffs’ ear, “Sertoff give me the key.” I whispered.
“The key.” he muttered still in some dream.
I bit the inside of my cheek, “Give me the key, Sertoff baby.” I tried to sound like Ruby as best I could in a whisper.
“Why don’t you come and get it?” a smile crossed his face.
I narrowed my eyes and sat back on the bed, slapping his leg “Give me the ding dong key. I have to go to the bathroom.”
“There’s a bedpan under the bed.”
“No way! I can’t go in front of you. Give me the key so I can go outside.”
“You must not have to go bad enough.” ne nuzzled his head deeper in the pillow.
“Give me the stupid key.” I began shaking him slightly. “Everyone is going to be awake in a while.”
“So?” he rolled over and glanced at me.
“You know what they are gonna say if they find out I was in here all night.”
“What, that we’re married?” he smirked.
“Stop trying to be funny and give me the key.” I held out my hand.
Just then there was knock on the door.
“What!” Sertoff yelled.
“I cain’t find Jas anywhere.” Jamie yelled back.
Sertoff smiled a huge smile and looked at me. Sertoff dropped his pants on the floor and grabbed the covers around him as he stood up to go to the door. Reaching up he messed up his hair, then unlocked the door and peeped out.
