Original X-roads-2003
We stood in the center of a desert, a constant wind blowing in front of us. “This is weird, doesn’t wind blow in spurts?” the air was clear above us.
“Well lets check it out.” Jabetto started walking forward, toward the source of the wind.
It seemed like hours we walked over one dune then another, the wind never wavering from it’s pace. After a while the wind began to grow stronger and stronger. Sand began to sting us as we walked forward. At the next dune, we stayed at it’s base and walked alongside it. Til I noticed something strange in the distance, I stopped Jabetto in his tracks. “Look over there” I pointed at endless flat sand.
“That’s weird.” he started walking towards it.
Once we reached it, there was no longer a wind blowing against us. I glanced around at the miles and miles of flat sand. “That’s weird, the wind stops right here.” I stuck my hand where the wind was still blowing.
“Well let’s see what’s going on.” Jabetto walked back in the direction we had been going before the wind had gotten to strong for us.
It soon began to get dark, Jabetto sighed as we continued walking forward, “If we don’t find someplace to sleep we’re going to have to go back to Caslitak.”
“I know, we’re losing our light.” then I saw a strange box. “Hey look!”
“Yeah I see it.” he picked up the pace to a fast jog.
But the closer we got, the bigger the box got, til we could see exactly what it was. “It looks like a giant fan!” I yelled, because the noise was to loud for normal speech.
Jabetto turned his face and nodded as he continued to jog towards it.
