He reached down and pulled me out of the water by my face. “Oh that.” he replicated my words and tone.
“You weren’t supposed to be back yet.”
“Forgot who I was didn’t you?”
“I didn’t forget who you were.”
“Obviously not, if you could jump clear to Earth.” he tossed the jumpers in the water where they short circuited.
“I wasn’t planning on going to Earth.” I protested.
“Not yet.”
“Come on Sertoff, cut me some slack here.”
“Just what were you planning, Empress?”
“I was going to get back before you knew. Sertoff, please… my clothes.”
“I think I like you better this way.” he smirked.
“Let go.” I grabbed his wrist and jerked loose.
He turned and grabbed my clothes tossing them in my direction without looking, then walked beyond the bushes. I walked over and grabbed my clothes off the ground. Man, has he got some nerve… I walked back over to the water and grabbed the two jumpers floating in the water, keeping my thoughts clear.
