Pathway to Destiny

Meanwhile in the Present…

Jonothan walked the final step and into Zariaha’s room.
Dry words broke the silence as Zariaha spoke, “I’ve been waiting for you.”
Jonothan looked into the narrowed aqua eye of the woman he had held captive for so long. He said nothing and waited at the entrance.
“You kept me here, using my power to your own advantage. The whole while aiding the enemy, and supplying them with soldiers.” Zariaha accused him. “Using my power.”
She looked down at the low cut robe Jonothan had her dressed in, “You dress me in this fashion, as if showing off some prized possession.” She glared up at him, “Well I am no longer your jewel. I no longer sparkle for your pleasure, nor glow for your delight.”
Zariaha walked over to the window and glanced out at the landscape. “I know without my help you can not keep this. Why did you not just ask for my consent? Why did you not reason with me?” She turned back to face him, “Why did you charm me?”
   Jonothan said nothing.
“You will not resist my leaving?” she asked quickly. “I want to see my sister after all this time.”
“Come an go as ya like.” Jonothan shrugged. “Do wat you wan. You was in great pain when I charmed you. Do you a favor, is all I done did. You always welcome here.”
“Did me a favor?” Zariaha narrowed her eyes.
“Do Wat You Wan, Zariaha!” Jonothan’s eyes flashed bright blue for a second. “You ain’t Jasylin, I don’ owe you not a single thing. Least of which is an explanation. You wanna go talk to yo’r sister, go talk to yo’r sister. You wan stand here and fight wit me, you get more dan you wan.”
Zariaha let out a short breath of air, then with a quick flash of purple light she was gone.
“I’m not de bad guy here.” Jonothan said to the empty room.
